For the past couple of days I've been using a site called mybloglog.com. I had to add some tracking tags to the template for this website and now they are able to track how many visitors I get, which pages they've visited from and where, if anywhere they go to once they leave the site. The site has a free option but starts with a preview of its paid option, which provides all this data in real time. For a self confessed narcissus such as myself, this is not a good tool to have. I'm truly fascinated by who comes to this site, how they found it and what they read. Though I don't get trails for each reader, in other words, I can't identify you, so don't be scared, the relatively low number of hits makes it fairly easy to guess how some readers have behaved.
I'm pleased to say that my 419 scam email posting is having the desired effect. From all the major search engines, my own posts concerning the scams I receive are high up the list. So it's like I'm a public service.
It seems like the totally disparate nature of topics I choose to whinge about is also a draw for readers. I literally have something to say about everything. . . And none of it is worth the effort people seem to put into reading it. Maybe I should reward those mugs foolish enough to read this crap. Maybe we should hold an annual incred-i-con where everyone sits down and reads that year's blog and then I have to buy everyone who came a fish supper. In my head this would occur on the pier at St Anne's. Who's up for it?
